Sauvignon Blanc is thought to take its name from the French word sauvage ("wild"). Sauvage has also come to describe wines made more naturally, with native yeasts and little intervention. This distinctive Sauvignon Blanc comes from three-decades-old Napa Valley vines. These head-trained, dry-farmed vines have yielded a vivacious wine that combines tropical and citrus elements with crisp acidity and a streak of wild herbaceousness.

Winemaker Notes
This is a vibrant wine with alluring aromas of honeydew melon, wild jasmine, lemon zest and Bosc pear, as well as hints of Japanese cucumber and crisp minerality. On the broad, creamy palate, layers of gooseberry, nectarine and star fruit are supported by bright acidity, which draws the wine to a long, focused finish.
The 2013 harvest was early, even and excellent with all of our Estate fruit in the winery by October 10th. A warm dry spring brought an early bud break and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set. In the weeks after Labor Day, a moderate heat event followed by a period of perfect weather created a dream scenario for end-of-season ripening. Rain was not a factor, and for the second vintage in a row, the quality of the grapes was exceptional throughout Napa Valley.
