Duckhorn Wine Company Promotions Bill Nancarrow to Executive Winemaker For Its Napa Valley Properties

Napa Valley, Calif. - Duckhorn Wine Company is pleased to announce the promotion of Bill Nancarrow to the position of executive winemaker for Duckhorn Vineyards and Paraduxx. In this capacity, Nancarrow will lead Duckhorn Wine Company's Napa Valley-based winemaking teams, overseeing production of the Duckhorn Vineyards and Paraduxx wine portfolios.
Raised in Hawkes Bay, the oldest winegrowing region in New Zealand, Nancarrow brings a global perspective to winemaking and viticulture. Prior to joining Duckhorn Vineyards, Nancarrow was the winemaker at C.J. Pask Winery in Hawkes Bay New Zealand, well known for its internationally acclaimed Merlot. In 2001, Nancarrow worked his first Duckhorn Vineyards harvest helping oversee winery operations. Nancarrow permanently joined Duckhorn Wine Company in February of 2003 as the winemaker for Paraduxx and the interim assistant winemaker for Duckhorn Vineyards.
At Duckhorn Vineyards, Nancarrow will be replacing Mark Beringer who, after years of dedicated service, has left to pursue other interests. "Over our 30-year history, a wonderful foundation has been established by winemakers Tom Rinaldi and Mark Beringer," said Nancarrow. "I am honored to be given the opportunity to build on that history and winemaking tradition as we move forward."
Nancarrow will work in concert with Zach Rasmuson, the vice president, general manager and winemaker of Goldeneye, Duckhorn Wine Company's Anderson Valley Pinot Noir label. According to company founder, CEO and chairman Dan Duckhorn. "As the Paraduxx winemaker, Bill has shown both passion and vision. Not only is he a gifted winemaker, he has the ability to lead and inspire a winemaking team. With Bill and Zach guiding our winemaking programs, we are extremely excited about the future."
